Dot NAME Domain Name Registrations

Introduced in 2001, the Dot NAME generic domain name extension is the sole TLD supposed to be for personal web pages only. These domains can consist of personal or fictional names, nicknames and/or other titles people are known by. Initially, solely 3rd-level registrations were permitted, so if you wanted to book john.doe.name, you were supposed to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and second-level registrations were also permitted. Already bought 3rd-level domains remained working.

Through our company, you can acquire your .NAME domain for a period between one and ten years. You will be able to change the WHOIS contact information, to park your domain, to set up Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an already registered domain to our company if you take its EPP transfer code from the current registrar and we will renew it when the transfer has been done. There are no specific requirements on who can obtain a .NAME domain name, but in order to keep the concept behind its creation alive, the .NAME Registry organization may verify who the Registrant is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain, the registration could be challenged.
